Gunnar Neufeld
Sophmore, Baritone, Treasuer
In the Great Alien Wars of 4962, the world was (will be?) nearly in shambles. The last of the human resistance was slumping against the technologically superior Glorpnorp Empire. Our weapons had nearly run dry almost a year earlier, as did our food and water. A complete takeover was all but inevitable, and hope was at an all-time low. Humanity’s last bastion was located in the sprawling metropolis of Boulder, CO, in the Joint Alliance of Nations.
The aliens planned one final invasion. While they were winning the war, humanity had left its toll. At the alien planet 54 light years away, their habitants were growing dissatisfied with this war. They had one final chance to forever extinguish the flame of humanity.
While hopes were low on the human side of the conflict, there was one unifying factor that the aliens could not begin to compete with: Gunnar Neufeld. Having sung with the CU Buffoons beginning all the way back in 2023, he was unaware of the impact he would have on a war that had not even been conceived of.
With his mighty baritone vocals bringing him fame and fortune, his legacy easily continued after he left this world many decades later to roam with other baritones in a beautiful green field. Singers united globally around Gunnar’s exquisite vocal prowess.
During the Great Wars, all instruments had been recycled, used as fuel, and effectively destroyed. Singing became the only musical art that unified humanity. Under siege, humanity sang and sang until the aliens grew too weary of battle and song. Gunnar’s arrangements were sung religiously by the inspired humans and became the factor that saved the human race.
